To acknowledge and reward your involvement at Texas A&M University, the J. Malon Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship program was established. Unlike some scholarships, leadership and involvement will be given priority in the selection process. The dedication of Texas A&M University to education, leadership, and service is demonstrated by this scholarship.

Eligibility
At the time of application, you must be an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student who has completed at least one semester at Texas A&M University.
You must be enrolled full-time in a program that leads to a degree and have a good behavior record.
The academic or other probation of a student is not permitted.
Texas A&M University requires a cumulative GPR of at least 2.5.
The forthcoming fall and spring semesters will be equally split between each recipient’s $1,000 award.

Students who are enrolled right now can apply via the university scholarship form.

Significant Dates
opens on October 15 and ends January 1

In order to be eligible for this waiver as of Fall 2017, you must be awarded and retain competitive scholarships totaling at least $4,000 each academic year. This waiver is still available to current students who are currently receiving scholarships of $1,000 or more. The $4,000 minimum applies to all new students and scholarship applicants. Texas A&M has a long history of turning out leaders and innovators who value giving back to the community. To further promote and recognize student leadership and involvement at A&M, the J. Malon Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship program was established. J. Malon Southerland ’65, a former vice president for student affairs at Texas A&M, is honored by the program’s name.

The Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship recipients play a significant leadership role in campus activities and programs. They can continue to play leadership roles at Texas A&M and beyond thanks to this scholarship, which lessens their financial obligations.

Texas A&M is able to uphold its dedication to learning, leadership, and service both inside and outside of the classroom thanks to the Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship program. The scholarships are endowed, so they will always support Aggie leaders.

Fund Aggie Executives
• A contribution of $25,000 that can be paid over a maximum of five years can be used to start the Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship. Through a planned contribution, you can also start a scholarship for the future.

• Use cash, securities, real estate, or corporate matching gifts to fund your scholarship.

• Give someone, a group, or an institution a special mention in the name of your scholarship.

The scholarship offered by this program lasts for one year. Your gift will help a new student each year. Build a Legacy

• You can interact with students through the Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship program and exchange ideas and aspirations.
At a yearly on-campus event, you’ll get to know your scholars and other supporters.

• A master plaque in the John J. Koldus Building will note your donation.

• Donors of the New Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship are also acknowledged on the website of the Foundation.
